I was thinking on my journey the past couple of years of turning myself into an endurance runner/athlete that there is SOOO little information on training and eating for a Type 2 diabetic as myself. Also it is so hard to find a doctor that knows how to deal with one that runs as much as I do.
Being a nurse and a teacher, it would be good to share things I learn along the way. I'm still not sure about this blog thing. Especially since it is mainly a way to procrastinate from doing my school work.
One thing I have learned is that proper fueling and electrolyte balance is VITAL to being about to move. I am finding that a good complex carb and protein bar during my runs work much better than gels and simple sugars.
Well, this is a work in progress and I have a practice-video guide to do. Sorry this is so boring for today, but everything starts with little steps.
